Crickozeen Cut

The site lies on the leeward west side of the atoll, where sloping reefs replace the vertical walls of the east. Sand chutes cut down the slope and two small walls shaped like elbows stick out from it. Large black grouper live here and eagle rays often hunt along the slope. Trumpetfish hide among the sea fans, damselfish and parrotfish graze the coral and spiny lobsters shelter under ledges. Around the full moon in summer, thousands of Creole wrasse gather here to spawn.
