South Rock

Also known as: Gorgonian Channel

South Rock is a steep wall on the North Atoll with plenty of gorgonian fans and a few overhangs. starfish.ch reports a large group of tuna and longface emperors here. The sandy patches hold many sea cucumbers, among them the prickly pineapple sea cucumber Thelenota ananas, and turtles are often relaxed enough to be watched up close.
