Soyak Wreck
Also known as: Soyak Wrecks
Two confiscated illegal fishing boats were sunk on the sand about 20 m west of Soyak Island and now rest between roughly 20 and 30 m. The wooden hulls have largely collapsed, but you can still make out the rudders, propellers and engines, and the remains are covered in soft and hard corals. A giant grouper is often around, with schools of fusiliers, yellowtail kingfish, trevally and oceanic barracuda, lyretail wrasse following divers, and nudibranchs for photographers. Because of the depth and currents that can be strong, it is a dive for Advanced Open Water divers and a good introduction to wreck diving, usually combined with a dive on the island reef.
