Rust-op-Twist
Rust-op-Twist lies on the North Shore Road about 4 km east of Cane Bay and is dived from shore or from one of two moorings. The pipes that once drew deep, nutrient-rich water to the shrimp farm still run down the reef and serve as a guide out and back, which also makes it a good night dive. The gradual slope is covered in tube and rope sponges, sea fans and gorgonians, with ledges sheltering orange-spotted filefish, burrfish, slipper lobsters and lizardfish. Black durgons are numerous, turtles are common and reef sharks are often seen. The shore entry over loose coral boulders in surf and possible currents make it a dive for experienced divers.
