Davis Bay
Also known as: Davis Bay Wall · Carambola House Reef
Davis Bay lies off Carambola Beach on the north shore and is the house reef of the resort. Shore divers walk in over a sandy patch and reach the top of the wall about 75 yards out at about 25 feet, and boats moor right on the wall edge at about 25 feet. Many cuts and small canyons run through the wall and are home to spotted lobsters and the occasional nurse shark, while southern stingrays move along the sand at the top. Sea fans of five feet and more are a feature of the wall, and reef sharks, turtles and schooling reef fish are common, with eagle rays, mantas and hammerheads seen now and then. Beyond the recreational range Sweet Bottom Dive Center reports a cavern at 280 feet and a chimney at 240 feet for technical divers.
