Sanganeb South
Also known as: Sanganeb South Point · Sanganeb Southwest Plateau
Most dives at Sanganeb take place here, at the southern end of the atoll where the lighthouse stands. The south side drops as a sheer wall to about 10 m and continues as a slope, with small caves and crevices cut into its upper part. To the west lies a plateau whose base, at 10 to 15 m, carries large table corals and forests of whip corals, and whose outer edge falls to about 33 m at the southwest tip. A large barracuda school stays at the site and lets careful divers come very close, while jacks, tuna, snappers and grey reef sharks patrol the edge and hammerheads, silky sharks and manta rays appear now and then. Titan triggerfish nest in a sandy strip at the foot of the wall and defend their nests, and the site is also recommended as a night dive.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
