El Acuario
Also known as: Aquarium · El Aquario
El Acuario starts in very shallow water and slopes gently to about 10 m, with a rope line on the bottom for navigation. Local organisations grow corals here in a nursery and later replant them on the outer reef. A large barracuda named François lives on the site, often with a school of small barracuda relatives. Eagle rays, porcupinefish, grunts and parrotfish are common, and experienced divers find several swim-throughs and caverns. The site is also dived as a drift along its outer edge and at night.
