Misery Point Reef
Also known as: Misery Creek
WDFW placed remnants of the old Hood Canal Bridge here to create fish habitat and a fishing reef. The slabs and beams lie from about 45 ft at the shallow end to 80 ft, surrounded by a mostly flat sandy bottom. Lingcod, cabezon, rockfish, perch and greenling live on the structure, and ratfish, skates, flatfish and gobies are found on the sand. Plumose anemones, sea cucumbers and sea stars are gradually colonising the reef. Current and northerly or southwesterly winds can be an issue, so a live boat is recommended, and fishing line is a hazard.
