Punta Cuevas
Also known as: Restinga de Punta Cuevas
Punta Cuevas is a natural rock formation a few hundred metres off the beach near the Tehuelche monument. Its shallow depth lets in plenty of light, which brings out the colours of the fauna and algae. Operators set up dive platforms with ladders and lines for controlled descents, and try dives are held here. Groupers, turcos, octopus and starfish are typical, along with the invasive alga Undaria pinnatifida.
