Sugarloaf
Also known as: Sugar Loaf · Sugarloaf Rock
Its walls plunge steeply into very deep water, with a small ledge at about 18 m and a top that is exposed at low tide and handy for safety stops. Large schools of fish gather around the rock while kingfish, snapper, trevally and bronze whalers hunt bait in the blue. Nudibranchs and crayfish live on the walls. Australian gannets live on the top of the rock. Deep technical divers find small black coral trees and patches of Oculina coral far down the northern flank.
