Boarfish Reef
A staircase reef runs westward from the promontory and ends in a broad top dominated by purple urchins and sponges. From there the reef falls quickly through stalked kelp and encrusted walls into the sponge zone with large tubular sponges. Pink maomao, demoiselles and koheru follow the food brought up from the depths. Seafriends notes that boats can anchor safely on the hard reef top.
