Port Nelson

Port Nelson is a ship sunk as an artificial reef roughly 6 miles off New Providence's southwest coast and named in honour of a fallen seaman. According to Sandals it was the last ship commissioned by the Royal Bahamas Defence Force before independence. The neighbouring Bacardi Bar Reef adds coral and fish life, so wreck and reef can be seen on one dive. Snappers, grunts, moray eels, scorpionfish, mackerel, kingfish and barracuda are reported.
