Lost Blue Hole

Also known as: The Lost Blue

The Lost Blue Hole is a circular sinkhole in the sea floor east of New Providence that opens at around 14 m and widens like a bell as it falls to about 90 m. Corals, sea fans and sponges cover its rim and attract snappers, amberjacks, Nassau grouper and French angelfish. Nurse sharks and reef sharks mostly keep to the bottom of the hole, while southern stingrays, large turtles and a big barracuda are also reported. Inside the hole the water is sheltered from outside currents. Lying so close to port, it is usually the first or the last stop of liveaboards out of Nassau, and Sandals counts it among the top dive sites of Nassau.
