Ronda Bay Marine Sanctuary
Also known as: Ronda Bay · Ronda Marine Park · Ronda Bay Marine Park · Saavedra Marine Sanctuary
Its official name is Saavedra Marine Sanctuary, and it was one of the first protected areas set up in Moalboal. The dive begins on a coral-covered slope with a turtle cleaning station in the shallows and continues onto a steep wall. Giant gorgonian sea fans, about a hundred of them, stand out from the wall and hide small animals such as dancing shrimp. Large camouflage groupers live in the no-fishing zone, and blacktip reef sharks, spotted eagle rays and batfish are seen. Neptune recommends it during the south-west monsoon, when waves make other Moalboal sites rougher.
