Passe Bateau Sud
The wall is covered in sponges, tubastrea, soft corals and gorgonians, and alcoves at about 15 m hide shrimps, moray eels, nudibranchs, flatworms, scorpionfish and leaf fish. Overhangs between 30 and 35 m and a cave at about 26 m add relief before the sand at around 40 m. When the current is strong, pelagic fish such as grey reef sharks may appear in the blue, and a large school of small barracuda often hangs above the sandy plateau. Reef manta rays come in season to feed on plankton near the surface. Mayotte Tourisme requires at least level 2 for this side of the pass.
