Yemayá

Yemayá takes its name from the goddess of the sea in Cuban Santería. Divers begin on a steep, nearly vertical wall and finish on the shallow reef at its top, at about 12 m. Deep gouges and a chimney-like fracture in the wall form tunnels that divers can swim through, lined with elephant ear, barrel and many other sponges. Sea fans, black coral, staghorn and elkhorn coral grow on the wall, while tuna, jacks, barracuda and tarpon pass in the blue. The fan site warns of possible strong currents and dives below 30 m and calls it a site for advanced divers only.
