El Almirante
Also known as: The Admiral
El Almirante is a deep site: the wall begins at around 22 m and carries large sponges and sea fans. Black coral grows further down, at around 100 ft. The fan site reports usually excellent visibility and a clear blue background behind the wall. Tarpon, angelfish, grunts and groupers are common, and the fan site says whale sharks are often seen in the area. The cuba diving guide names it among the sites it suggests for the first dive of the day.
