Evo Reef
Also known as: Evolution's House Reef
Evo Reef is mostly sand and seagrass rather than coral, but it is one of Malapascua's best muck dives and lies only minutes from the beach. Seahorses, frogfish, crinoid squat lobsters, imperial shrimp, coconut octopus, snake eels, stargazers, robust ghost pipefish and many mantis shrimp are found there. At dusk bobtail squid appear, and mandarinfish mate on a small coral patch in the shallows. Artificial structures give extra shelter, and the site is used for check dives, training and night dives.
