Passe de Dumbéa
Also known as: Dumbéa Pass
The inner slopes have very clear water and dense reef fish, and Mobula Diving rates them among the best sites for video without lights. On the south side of the pass the wall at the end of the barrier reef, called the Mur aux Loches, draws large numbers of groupers that gather to spawn in October and November. The deeper outer slopes can bring tuna or large sharks when the current is right. Because there is no mooring and the current in the pass can be very strong, it is best dived with guides who know the site.
