El Pasaje Escondido
Also known as: Hidden Passage
The dive starts on a sloping coral and rock plain at about 15 m, with ridges and sand gathering at the foot of the drop-off. The wall holds passages and two tunnels, each roughly 1.5 m around and 4 m long. The first, at about 34 m, is tucked away in a complex structure and gave the Hidden Passage its name; the second lies about 40 m further on at around 38 m. Fish life includes damselfish, butterflyfish, hogfish, barracuda, morays, scorpionfish, groupers and yellowtail snapper, and garden eels live in the sand. Loggerhead turtles and stingrays are also seen here.
