Hot Spring Cave
Also known as: Hot Springs Cave
Hot Spring Cave stands out among Tonga's dives because a hydrothermal vent in a smaller side chamber releases warm water into the cooler sea water of the cave. Divers feel these occasional surges of heat as they explore. The entrance sits at about 25 m and opens into a main chamber at about 28 m with a ceiling some 15 m high. Sponges and corals grow around the entrance. Dive travel sources describe it as a deep dive in an overhead environment that is best left to experienced divers.
