Shilang
Also known as: 石朗 (Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan)) · Shilang Marine Protected Area · Shilang Beach
The Shilang reserve is described by local dive centres as Taiwan's model marine protected area, and surgeonfish, parrotfish, wrasse, butterflyfish, damselfish and grouper crowd its reef. At high tide many fish gather in about one metre of water to graze algae off the rocks. The bay is large, so hundreds of trainees and snorkellers share it with fun divers, while boats from Nanliao harbour drop experienced divers further out where the corals and fish life are richer. Macro subjects include nudibranchs and mimic filefish, and sea snakes and turtles are seen as well. Several named points surround the bay, among them Big Mushroom, Middle Mushroom, Back Garden, Turtle Rock and an underwater postbox.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
