Double Arch Reef
Also known as: Double Arch · Double Arches · Twin Arches · Qbajjar Arch
Most divers reach it from the shore at a rocky inlet called the washing machine, crossing the salt pans on their dividing ridges and swimming out over Posidonia before descending to the reef at around 14 to 17 m. Past large boulders the two arches come into view, one of the most unusual formations in Maltese waters. Their shaded undersides are covered in small sponges and golden cup corals, and groupers, blennies, nudibranchs, slipper lobsters and octopus live around them. Shoals of barracuda often gather above the reef, and amberjack and tuna pass by. Depth and the long swim make it a dive for experienced divers, and it is exposed to all northerly winds.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
