Eastern Dry Rocks

Also known as: EDR

Eastern Dry Rocks packs a range of reef habitats into just 90 acres, from a rubble zone to long coral fingers with sand and coral-filled canyons between them. Yellowtail snapper, queen angelfish, spotted drums, damselfish, barracuda and resting nurse sharks are reported, and squid sometimes hover over the reef. The remains of an old galleon are hard to tell apart from the reef at its south-western end. Its shallow depth and minimal current make it a common site for open water students.
