Adolphus Busch Sr.
Conosciuto anche come: Adolphus Busch · MV Adolphus Busch
Built in Scotland in 1950 as the London, the ship sailed under several names before August Busch IV funded its purchase and sinking as an artificial reef, named after his great-grandfather. Because it lies inside the sanctuary, it was flooded through holes cut above the waterline rather than sunk with explosives, and it settled perfectly upright on 5 December 1998. Divers report resident goliath groupers, barracuda schools, permit around the wheelhouse at about 70 feet, moray eels and in summer thick clouds of silversides. On clear days most of the ship is visible from the mooring line.
