Table Top
Also known as: Veril de Arinaga
After a tricky-looking entry where waves break on the rocks, a short underwater channel leads onto a broad volcanic shelf. From this one entry dive centres run several routes, to the shoal of grunts, the small arch, the eel garden and the caves and swim-throughs, and also the long deep dive to the gorgonians of Punta de la Sal. The walls around the outside of the shelf drop to about 20 to 22 m and are dotted with caves and holes housing morays and crabs. Barracuda, trumpetfish, dusky groupers, shi drum, glasseye and giant anemones are among the residents, with rays, angel sharks and seahorses seen on luckier days. Its upper parts are shallow enough for newer divers, and night dives here bring out stingrays, squid and octopus.
