The Bells
The Bells is entered through a small crack in the reef table a short walk north of the Blue Hole; divers descend one at a time through a narrow chimney lit by shafts of sunlight and leave it through an opening at roughly 25 to 30 m. Outside, a vertical wall drops away for hundreds of metres, with overhangs, small caverns and plenty of black coral, sea fans and anemones. Divers then drift south with the wall on their right, ascending gradually, often stopping at a cleaning station at around 18 m, and finish by crossing the shallow coral saddle into the Blue Hole. The open water here is exceptionally clear, and turtles, trevally and the occasional reef shark are seen in the blue. Because the wall has no reachable bottom, the dive suits divers with good buoyancy control who are certified to at least 30 m.
