Ras Abu Galum
Also known as: Abu Galum · Ras Abu Gallum · Ras Abu Galoum
Ras Abu Galum lies inside a protected national park area north of the Blue Hole, away from the busy Dahab sites. There is no road for normal cars, so divers either ride camels along the shore from the Blue Hole, with the camels carrying the tanks, or take a short speedboat ride. The area holds about six sites, from a shallow southern part near the Bedouin village to the northern reef with large hard coral blocks and table corals. On the main site a sandy slope runs down between two reef walls to about 30 m, and on one side the reef table turns into a steep wall with pinnacles and rock formations. Turtles, trevallies, jacks, eagle rays and barracuda come in to the cleaning stations, and many centres offer an overnight stay with the Bedouin including a night dive.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
