Shaab Said
Also known as: Sha'ab Said · Shabb Said
Shaab Said lies just north of Gabr el Bint on the boat route from Dahab, next to a small blue hole, and is dived from the boat when the wind is low. Its name is said to mean happy corals, and most of the dive stays around 15 m, with a coral maze sloping gradually to about 20 m. Divers enter the first of two lagoons between walls of stony corals such as yellow pore and galaxy coral, then drift among large pinnacles, small caves and swim-throughs that call for good buoyancy. In the second lagoon snubnose rudderfish and black-and-white snappers gather, and damselfish, surgeonfish, barracuda, octopus and turtles are also seen. Few divers come here, so the reef is in very good condition, and at high tide guides sometimes add a short look into the small blue hole. One centre also points to a wall of giant gorgonian fans at the site.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
