Tamarindo Beach
Also known as: Playa Tamarindo
Tamarindo Beach faces the Luis Pena Channel marine reserve, which holds several dive sites from about 9 m to almost 24 m. Snorkelling is very popular here. Divers can meet nurse and reef sharks, lobsters, sea turtles and plenty of fish. Moon Travel Guides points out the variety of soft corals and sea anemones. The reserve is a no-take zone where fishing and lobstering are banned all year.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
