Hon Cau

Also known as: Cau Island

Hon Cau, also called Cau Island, is the most distant of the three islands on Con Dao Dive Center's regular trips and is also known for the Co Van Temple. Underwater it offers extensive shallow reefs of branching coral between about 2 and 8 metres. The main dive site, Shark Fin, mixes shallow coral, nudibranch-rich zones and structured hard coral gardens where giant barracuda, trevally, bamboo sharks and sea turtles can appear. Rainbow Divers highlights its soft coral gardens and the chance of bamboo sharks or blue-spotted rays hiding in crevices. Visibility is often the best in the archipelago and frequently exceeds 20 metres.
