Big Dos Amigos
Also known as: Dos Amigos Grande · Dos Amigos - Big
Big Dos Amigos is the larger and nearer of two rocky islets about half a nautical mile off Cocos Island. Its huge natural arch is a favourite of photographers, with dense schools of fish inside and marble rays and whitetips swimming through. Lobsters, eels, starfish, harlequin shrimp and urchins hide among the rocks, while mobula rays and snappers gather around the arch. Hammerheads and Galapagos sharks are common at the southeast point, and whale sharks tend to show up here or at Small Dos Amigos when they are around.
