Duiker Island

Also known as: Seal Island · Duikereiland

The islet is marked on charts as Duikereiland, and its seal colony has made it a major tourist attraction. Most diving takes place in the kelp to the north-west, in the sheltered anchorage away from the busy boat channel. The water is mostly no deeper than about 6 to 8 m. Scuba Shack warns that great white sharks are present. The site lies about 4 km from Hout Bay harbour and is only reached by boat.
