Old Volcano

Also known as: Old Vulcano

Old Volcano lies off the west coast between Naasag and Bonbon, where hardened lava from an old eruption has turned into a reef. The site drops steeply from the shallows, and Coraya Divers dives its long wall as a one-way dive. Boulders, overhangs and sharp pinnacles shape the terrain, with a canyon running between some of them, and soft and hard corals grow densely on the rock. Macro life includes ghost pipefish, pygmy seahorses, frogfish and nudibranchs, while batfish, sweetlips and snappers swim along the slope. Currents are sometimes present.
