Ovalau II

Also known as: MV Ovalau II · Ovalau

The Ovalau II was a car ferry that ran between Viti Levu and Vanua Levu until its engine flooded and it sank on 26 August 2003, with no lives lost. The 55 m vessel lies upside down, surrounded by debris including vehicles, chain and bathroom fittings. Hard and soft corals are taking hold on the hull. Bluefin trevally, groupers, nudibranchs, pipefish and the occasional reef shark are seen, and Dive The World recommends the wreck for highly experienced divers.
