Shark Pass
Also known as: Bikini Atoll Channel
Divers have regularly met aggregations of 50 to 100 grey reef sharks here, most of them adults, together with silvertip sharks. Napoleon wrasse, tuna, jacks and schools of yellowtail fusiliers add to the scene over healthy coral. Strong tidal currents run through the channel. Shark numbers fell after illegal fishing in 2003, and the Marshall Islands declared a shark sanctuary in 2011. Liveaboards dive it when time and conditions allow.
