Saco do Cherne
Also known as: Enseada do Cherne
Saco do Cherne is a wide cove shaped like a horseshoe that is protected from the southwest wind. The bottom lies at only around 9 to 16 m and is partly covered with hydrocorals. Barracudas often hang near the surface, while the reef below holds plenty of fish and, in this sector, seahorses. Because the water is usually very clear and calm, the cove is a favourite of underwater photographers. Operators use it for introductory dives and for training basic divers.
