Ponta da Jararaca
Also known as: Teixeirinha
The Teixeirinha was a small Brazilian steam freighter built in 1890, about 53 m long. Bad weather and strong wind drove her against the rocks of Ponta da Jararaca in June 1923, and her crew survived. Today the wreck is broken and partly buried, spread over the point. Moray eels, lobsters and scorpionfish (mangangá) have made it their home. Visibility is usually modest, about 3 to 8 m.
