Vilamendhoo Thila
The reef starts at around 7 to 10 metres and drops to sand at about 30 metres on the east side, with overhangs on the west side. The northern part breaks into detached blocks and the seaward ledges carry hard corals, sea fans and anemones with clownfish. Fusiliers, snappers, jacks and sweetlips school around the reef, with grey reef and whitetip sharks and frequent eagle rays. Mantas visit in the northeast monsoon and whale sharks cruise the nearby outer reef.
