King Abdullah Reef
Also known as: Crown Reef · Abdullah Reef · Abdallah Reef
The dive starts through a maze of fringing reef with fire coral and drops to a large pinnacle at around 12 m. From there divers cross sand to a circular reef topped by an old fan coral, now overgrown with colourful sponges. Deeper, a gorgonian forest grows at about 21 m, and pennant fish shoal around 24 m. Seagrass and sand attract turtles and blue-spotted stingrays, and the clear, calm water makes the reef a favourite with underwater photographers.
