Divers drop on the south side of the channel and descend to the edge of the drop into the deep at around 30 metres, where they wait for sharks, eagle rays and Napoleon wrasse passing in the blue. The drift can then continue along the wall, past caves with groupers and soldierfish and through a narrow canyon, and may cover around two kilometres. Currents are strong, SSI mentions up to 5 to 6 knots at times, so the full Express is for experienced divers, while Diverland offers a gentler variant entering further along the outer reef. Hammerheads, barracudas and large groupers are also reported. A thila in the middle of the channel is described separately as Embudu Thila.
