The Canyon
One wall of the canyon is sunlit and the other dark, and overhangs shelter shy fish. Giant and long-finned boarfish, carpet sharks and schools of pink maomao live in the deeper parts, while nudibranchs and blennies share the walls. Off the point the reef drops further, and technical divers find organ-pipe sponges, gorgonians and black coral trees below 55 m. Seafriends notes it also works as a night dive for experienced divers.
