Devils Head

Divers start on the shore side of the island at about 5 m and follow the reef to a tear-shaped bowl ringed by overhangs, where a layer of silt can hang above clear water. Off the reef a hidden tunnel of about 30 m runs through the rock with only small openings, partly in complete darkness, followed by canyons, gullies and smaller swim-throughs in the shallows. Nudibranchs such as pink Flabellina and the dotted sea slug, dusky groupers and lionfish are seen. Green and loggerhead turtles, which nest on the Akamas beaches, may appear in the turtle season.
