Mayday

Mayday is the house site of Bocas Dive Center, reached from its pier in Bocas Town. Its centrepiece is a plane that overran the runway of Bocas del Toro airport in 2006 and was later sunk here as an artificial reef. At only about 5 m it is ideal for discover dives and courses, yet still rewarding for experienced divers. Butterflyfish, surgeonfish, juvenile angelfish, trumpetfish, schools of sardines, arrowhead crabs and upside-down jellyfish are reported around the plane and under the pier.
