Stingray Motel
Also known as: Sting Ray Motel · Stingray's Motel
Stingray Motel lies on the east side of Turneffe near Blackbird Caye, where sand chutes slope down to the wall. Southern stingrays rest on the sand, and eagle rays, hawksbill turtles and horse-eye jacks are seen.
Sand channels and a sandy slope lead from the reef flat down to the edge of the east-coast wall. Southern stingrays, sand tilefish, garden eels and fantail blennies live on the sand. Eagle rays and hawksbill turtles pass along the reef, and schools of horse-eye jacks are reported as well. It is a shallow, relaxed dive rated for open water divers.
