Ulong Channel
Dives begin at the outer mouth, where divers often hook in to watch grey reef sharks, snappers, jacks and groupers hunting in the current. They then let go and fly along the channel over a sandy floor dotted with coral heads, with walls full of soft corals and sea fans on both sides. A huge patch of lettuce or plate coral shelters squirrelfish and soldierfish, and titan triggerfish nest in the sand during their breeding season and defend their craters. The currents can be strong and may change direction during the dive.
