Short Drop Off
Also known as: Short Dropoff
The dive passes from a shallow reef of big coral heads down a steep, fissured slope to the wall below. Whitetip, grey reef and blacktip sharks, turtles and eagle rays are seen along the edge, and from September to November the reef serves as a nursery for young grey reef sharks. Nudibranchs and octopus hide in the crevices, and chambered nautilus live in deep water off the reef. Novices can dive it when there is no current, and the incoming current does not affect divers who stay close to the wall.
