Mak Cantik
Also known as: Maxi Mount · Batu Mak Chantek · Ma Chantik
The name means 'beautiful mother' in Malay, and many divers prefer it to nearby Chek Isa for its prettier coral and anemone gardens. Submerged boulders rise from the sand and are covered in hard and soft corals. Currents can run here at times, and then schooling fish such as yellowtail barracuda, jacks, trevally, snappers and batfish sweep around the formations. Rays, puffers and blacktip reef sharks are common, and whitetip sharks and larger rays may be seen towards the edge of the reef. It is also used for night dives.
