Shihon Iwa
Also known as: 四本岩 (Japanese)
Four large rocks rise from the sea, and the channels between them form dramatic terrain. In spring up to about 50 dogtooth tuna, some over 2 m, circle in the narrow passages, reminiscent of the Tuna Cave in the Keta islands. Whitetip reef sharks rest in the dark parts, and reef fish such as bluestripe snapper are abundant. Dive Resort Hahajima calls it easy for beginners because of its mooring buoy and usually weak current, while PADI Japan says current is often present.
