Maguro Ana (Yomejima)

Also known as: Tuna Cave · 嫁島マグロ穴 (Japanese) · Tuna Hole

An arch that can be seen from the boat opens into an underwater hall about 20 m wide. At its peak more than 100 dogtooth tuna, some about 2 m long, swirl through it. Bigeye trevally, turtles, sand tiger sharks and whitetip reef sharks are seen as well, and dolphins sometimes visit during the safety stop. The site lies about one and a half hours by boat from Futami Port and is usually reached in the calm summer season.
